Rugged, high-performance and scalable test system with seamless Simulink® workflow interaction. Perfect for mobile use, such as in a vehicle.

In-Vehicle Installation with Optional Lab/Desk Installation

Each Mobile real-time target machine is pre-configured for in-vehicle installation. In addition, it can also be used for desk/lab placement. Optional mounting plate is provided to mechanically fix the real-time target machine to a particular location. The mounting plate includes a set of clamps for mounting to a pair of DIN-rails (item ID 105362).

Real-Time Performance

By default, the Mobile real-time target machine is equipped with a dual core CPU with a 2.4 GHz clock rate. It can run applications with sample rates in the range of tens of kHz. To run applications with multiple sample rates, enabling deployment of larger and complex Simulink® models, the 2.7 GHz six core option is recommended.

For applications or application components requiring sample rates up to the MHz range, you can choose from a selection of Simulink® Programmable FPGAs, also including lowest latency analog and digital I/O connectivity.

Within Simulink®, you can define which application components you want to execute on the CPU, and which ones on one or multiple programmable FPGAs, at different sample rates.

High Speed Data Logging

Real-time testing frequently requires logging large amounts of data for an extended period of time, analyzed after real-time execution such as with Simulink® Simulation Data Inspector, you can hence choose SSDs with up to 2 TB of size for data logging.

Flexible I/O Expansion

This test system is frequently used to control and simulate highly complex setups such as aircraft or vehicle controller prototypes. For this, the Mobile real-time target machine comes in four different sizes with up to fourteen I/O modules, providing a flexible I/O expansion concept. And should you require to scale even further, multiple target machines can be interconnected and synchronized such as with low latency shared memory links. I/O modules can be accessed at the front of the test system.

Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP)

  • Expedite control design development by using the test system as a powerful and flexible prototype of your controller in R&D. Use the controller prototype for in-vehicle applications. In addition, use it for small-scale lab/desktop applications. Later in your development process, leverage the test system as an embedded controller.

  • Connect the test system to your physical plant using the same I/O configuration as your future embedded controller.

  • Use MATLAB® & Simulink® to design your controls and use Simulink® Real-Time™ to deploy the real-time application to the test system. Iterate through designs and monitor their performance. Automate the testing process.

  • Evolve your control designs while keeping core parts running on the embedded controller using bypassing. The embedded controller remains part of the test setup while new features are executed on the real-time test system, all perfectly connected and synced.
