Testing and Virtual Commissioning of PLCs using Digital Twins search search close

Overview

This recorded webinar will highlight how you can transform your plant into a digital twin using Simulink®, how you can test PLC applications in the lab, and make your test execution efficient and reproducible.

In particular, learn how Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation with Simulink® Real-Time™ and Speedgoat real-time target computers help you testing industrial controls. See how to use a Speedgoat multi-node simulator to simulate a plant with multiple PROFINET® devices from different vendors. We also show you how to create the restbus simulation from the PLC project and how to use MATLAB® App Designer to create a graphical user interface and interact with the virtual plant.

The model-based design workflow, including Simulink® Real-Time, enables you to perform simulation models in real-time and benefit from integrated instrumentation.

Highlights

  • Simulink® model-based design to transform your plant into a digital twin
  • Emulate complete fieldbus slave networks to your PLC
  • Instrument the real-time target machine from MATLAB® and Simulink®
  • Automated testing and fault insertion to validate PLC control algorithms

Product Focus

Note: The amlimport command used in the demo is no longer available. Instead, with the version 3 blocks for the PROFINET device, the user can import a GSDML file and configure the device's slots and sub-slots based on the modules and sub-modules provided by that file.
