Develop and test your electronic control units with the automotive standard
AUTOSAR (AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture) is a global standard developed by top automotive OEMs to streamline the design of electronic control units (ECUs). AUTOSAR offers the Classic Platform for real-time systems and the Adaptive Platform for high-performance ECUs. By improving software quality, reducing costs, and ensuring modularity, AUTOSAR accelerates innovation in automotive software development.
The Speedgoat I/O connectivity modules support the AUTOSAR standard, allowing you to efficiently develop and test ECUs. You can use them for restbus simulation, gateway functionality, rapid control prototyping (RCP), and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.

Restbus simulation allows you to test and validate ECUs even when not all control units are available. By emulating the missing nodes and buses, the simulation creates a complete test environment combining real and virtual ECUs. You can integrate early, reduce costs, and accelerate development without the need for the actual vehicle or hardware.
Gateway functionality simulates the behavior of a central gateway ECU, which routes and translates messages across different vehicle networks. It enables you to test ECUs by accurately replicating message handling, routing, and translation logic, ensuring seamless communication across mixed-protocol systems.
Rapid control prototyping (RCP) enables you to deploy AUTOSAR-compliant control algorithms directly from Simulink onto Speedgoat hardware. By connecting to real ECUs via standardized communication protocols, you can refine control strategies in real time and under real conditions.
With hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, you can validate ECUs by connecting them to the digital twin of the vehicle running on the test system. You can also connect them to multiple virtual ECUs within the simulation. This allows you to test control algorithms, network communication, and overall system behavior under realistic operating conditions.
