The IO172 I/O module offers versatile support to measure temperature and strain using ungrounded thermocouples, resistive sensors such as resistance temperature detectors (RTD), thermistors, and strain gauges.
Its 6 channels can be configured individually for any sensor type, and predefined parameter sets are available for the most common sensor types.
The IO172 comes with a dedicated terminal board that allows individual wiring schemes to be implemented for each channel.
The module can perform cold junction compensation, measure cold junction temperatures and can be used for testing workflows in various industries.
For simplified wiring, an optional terminal box with an integrated SE95 thermal sensor for cold junction compensation can be purchased together with the I/O module.
