IO601: CAN I/O Module

Intelligent CAN module with 2 isolated ports for high/low-speed CAN or LIN, including Simulink driver blocks

The IO601 is a very versatile, intelligent CAN-bus I/O module with two galvanically isolated ports for CAN or LIN protocols. The module is compatible with standard (CAN 2.0A) and extended (CAN 2.0B) identifiers and supports high-speed (ISO 11898-2) and low-speed, fault-tolerant (ISO 11898-3) communication. Simulink Real-Time driver blocks are also included.

The IO601 I/O module supports the following protocols:


  • Two galvanically isolated ports 
  • CAN up to 1 Mbps and 8 data bytes payload 
  • One LIN interface (ISO 9141) on port 1 
  • Supports SAE J1939, and XCP over CAN 
  • Compatible with CAN 2.0A messages (11-bit identifier) and CAN 2.0B messages (29-bit identifier) 
  • High-speed (ISO 11898-2) and low-speed/fault-tolerant (ISO 11898-3) CAN, software selectable for each channel 
  • Fully compatible with the Simulink Real-Time workflow 
  • On-board microcontroller manages the low-level flow of CAN messages
  • 'Lean' on-board CAN firmware leads to minimal receive and transmit driver block latencies
  • Extensive Simulink Real-Time driver blockset offers a comprehensive set-up block and various receive and transmit blocks supporting FIFO mode and object modes
  • Easy firmware updates: the Setup driver block downloads microcontroller firmware each time a target application is initialized
